Play Development & New Work

Creating stories from first workshop to final performance.

Purva is passionate about the process of bringing new work to life. As an actor and collaborator, she has worked alongside playwrights, directors, and theater companies from the earliest stages of development through full productions, helping shape characters, worlds, and stories as they evolve.

She believes that new work is built through curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to explore what a piece is becoming. Whether in a first reading, workshop, developmental rehearsal, or production, Purva brings a deep commitment to discovery and a collaborative spirit to the room.

Her development work includes collaborations with leading New York theater companies and artists, including Target Margin Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Soho Rep, Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Theatre Workshop, Clubbed Thumb, Tectonic Theater Project, and others.
