Acting Coaching & Classes

Find your voice. Strengthen your craft. Tell your story.

Purva loves sharing her passion for acting with students of all ages — from young people discovering the joy of performance for the first time to professional actors looking to deepen their craft.

As a working actor in film, television, and theater, Purva brings decades of experience as a performer, collaborator, and artist into every coaching session. Her approach is rooted in curiosity, play, and helping each actor discover what makes them unique.

Whether you are preparing for an audition, exploring acting for the first time, applying to performing arts programs, or looking to expand your professional toolkit, Purva creates a supportive environment where actors can take risks, make discoveries, and build confidence.

Coaching Focus

Audition Preparation

Learn how to make bold, specific choices while staying connected to the character and story. Purva helps actors develop a process that allows them to walk into auditions with confidence and clarity.

Scene Study & Character Work

Explore text, relationships, objectives, and emotional life to create truthful, compelling performances.

On-Camera Technique

Develop the skills needed for film and television — including specificity, listening, working with the frame, and finding natural, authentic behavior on camera.

Building Confidence & Presence

For younger actors especially, acting is an opportunity to develop imagination, communication skills, self-expression, and confidence. Purva helps students find their voice while honoring who they already are.

Professional Development

For emerging and working actors, Purva offers coaching on material, auditions, self-tapes, and the ongoing process of building a sustainable artistic practice.

About Purva

Purva Bedi is a multi-lingual actress of film, television, and stage, as well as a deviser of new work. A 2019 Drama Desk Award winner for her performance in Dance Nation at Playwrights Horizons, Purva is an Associate Artist and Board Member of Target Margin Theater and a member of the Actors Center Workshop Company.

Alongside her acting career, Purva is a dedicated acting teacher and coach. She has served on the faculty of SUNY Purchase College Conservatory, led master classes and coaching for actors at The Prep Studio in New York and New Jersey, and taught at Anthony Meindl’s Actors Workshop. She also coaches actors privately, helping students of all ages develop confidence, deepen their craft, and discover their own unique artistic voice.

Beyond working with actors, Purva also brings her performance expertise into the corporate world, coaching leaders and professionals to communicate with greater authenticity, confidence, and impact. She has worked with organizations including Performance of a Lifetime and other executive coaching firms, partnering with leaders to strengthen presentation skills, storytelling, presence, and the ability to connect with their teams and audiences. Drawing from the tools of acting — including listening, spontaneity, emotional intelligence, and embodied communication — Purva helps professionals step into their next level of leadership.

Her approach to teaching comes from decades of experience as a working actor and collaborator. She believes that strong acting begins with curiosity, imagination, listening, and a willingness to take creative risks. Her goal is to provide actors with the tools and confidence to tell stories truthfully and authentically.
