Born abroad and raised in New York City, Purva Bedi is a multi-lingual actress of film, television and stage and also a deviser of new work. A true craftswoman, she jumps headfirst into her projects across all media and looks for the personal truth and authenticity in every character she plays thus bringing variety and dynamism to every performance.

In Fall 2018 Purva starred in the world premiere of Jaclyn Backhaus' Horton Foote Prize-winning play India Pale Ale at Manhattan Theatre Club (directed by Will Davis).
Purva loves to workshop new plays and has done so at at theaters which include The Public, A.C.T., Playwrights Horizons, Long Wharf Theatre, The Lark, New Dramatists, Ars Nova and The Atlantic Theatre
Purva is a member of The Actor's Center Workshop Company, an Associate Artist with Target Margin Theatre and Founding member of Disha Theatre. She studied at Williams College, The British American Drama Academy and the Public Theatre Shakespeare Lab. Purva also teaches acting at the Anthony Meindl Acting Workshop.
Purva lives with her best collaborator and husband, David Andrew Stoler, where she plays her most challenging and favorite role: mother to their 7 year old daughter.
